3Project Overview
Shiplake College, located in Henley-on-Thames, is an independent boarding and day school for students aged 11 to 18 years. As part of its commitment to providing an innovative educational experience, the school sought to upgrade its science facilities by creating modern, flexible, and functional laboratory spaces. The project aimed to integrate adaptable furniture solutions that would optimise the use of space while supporting the school’s evolving teaching methods.
What We Did
Pinnacle collaborated with contractor Morris and Blunt and architectural practice Edgington Spink & Hyne to install our Konvolve system in four laboratories and a prep room. Additionally, we supplied loose furniture, including stools and tambour units, to complement the existing laboratory furniture. The architect was particularly impressed with the flexibility and reconfigurability of the Konvolve system, making it the ideal choice for the school’s dynamic learning environment.
To support the design process, we provided the architect with costings, product data sheets, and Revit models. This ensured that the design could be accurately delivered within the budget and design constraints of the project. Our collaboration with the design team helped bring their vision to life while ensuring the space met the practical needs of both staff and students.
The Result
The installation of the Konvolve system at Shiplake College has transformed four labs and a prep room into dynamic, adaptable spaces, perfectly suited to the school’s educational needs. The project was an excellent example of how the flexibility and reconfigurability of the Konvolve system can be leveraged to create functional and modern learning environments. It was a privilege to be part of such a prestigious project, contributing to the college’s vision of fostering an inspiring, flexible educational atmosphere.
