Project Overview
Lisburne School is a primary school that provides inclusive education for pupils with complex learning needs. It ensures access to the full National Curriculum in a safe, nurturing environment where every achievement is celebrated.
Pinnacle was tasked with transforming key areas to enhance functionality, accessibility, and engagement, creating spaces that promote collaboration, hands-on learning, and sensory development.
What We Did
Pinnacle collaborated closely with the school to deliver bespoke solutions tailored to each space, ensuring a cohesive and inclusive environment that meets the diverse needs of students.
– Reception
Designed to offer a warm and welcoming first impression. Functional yet inviting furniture was chosen, setting a positive tone for both students and visitors.
– Cookery room
Furnished with practical and accessible workstations, enabling students to participate in hands-on cooking activities and develop essential life skills.
– Class room and Zen den
Equipped with flexible seating and adaptable workspaces to accommodate various learning styles. The Zen Den was designed as a calming retreat, providing students with a space to relax and self-regulate in a soothing environment.
– Break out space
A multipurpose breakout area designed for small group activities, fostering collaboration, creativity, and social interaction.
– Lunch Hall
Furnished with durable, easy-to-clean furniture that maximises seating capacity while maintaining a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere for students during mealtimes.
– Lightroom
Two light rooms were designed and installed, equipped with sensory lighting and interactive elements to promote visual and sensory exploration:
– Room 1 featured a deluxe bubble wall and LED wall wash
– Room 2 included an Omi Reflex wall, sound system, solar projector, infinity tunnel, bubble column, fibre optics within the wall and Fibre optic carpet.
– Sensory room
The therapy suite was transformed into a multifunctional sensory room, incorporating: Body roller, storage swing hooks, large swing bolster, and mats.
– Softplay room
This room was equipped with a variety of elements to encourage active play and exploration, including: Ball pool, Bag station, Soft den with tunnels, Floor and wall padding, Soft play shapes and a Rocket roller.
The colour palette for the room featured vibrant shades of blue, red, yellow, and green to create an engaging environment.
– Dark therapy room
Equipped with sensory elements designed to provide a controlled environment for relaxation, sensory exploration, and therapeutic interventions. We placed solar projector, moving dots, UV carpet, Liquid floor tiles, laser stars, infinity tunnel with colour buttons.
