Project Overview

Lady Eleanor Holles School is one of the country’s leading girls’ schools, known for offering students a wealth of opportunities, challenges, and friendships. It is a place where students are encouraged to take risks, be bold, and embrace curiosity and adventure.
The school believes that the Sixth Form environment should reflect its vibrant and dynamic ethos. They view it as a remarkably diverse, stimulating, and enjoyable space. To align with this vision, the school decided to update the Sixth Form common room and café area and engaged Scott Brownrigg Ltd to carry out the architectural and interior design.

The Brief

The goal was to create a functional space with maximum capacity for Sixth Form students, combining relaxation and study areas, while offering flexibility for various needs.

What We Did

To meet the school’s expectations, Pinnacle designed the space with neutral and calming colours. The school specified that they did not want the design to incorporate their house colours or any strong school branding, aiming instead for a welcoming and relaxing environment that would encourage concentration and social interaction.

We furnished the space with a combination of stylish yet durable furniture:

– Modular seating to accommodate flexible group arrangements and individual seating.
– Ergonomically designed chairs and tables that were ideal for both study and socialising.
– Soft lounge seating in muted tones to promote a calm and relaxing environment.

The furniture’s neutral colour palette – featuring soft blues and greens, light woods and subtle pinks helped create the calming atmosphere the school wanted, while the modern design elements kept the space fresh and inviting.

The Result
The redesigned Sixth Form common room and café area successfully met the school’s needs for functionality, capacity, and aesthetics. This project reinforced our longstanding partnership with the school, showcasing our deep understanding of their vision and preferences.
