Project Overview

Headington School in Oxford appointed Pinnacle Furniture to complete the refurbishment for various areas of the school including 7 science laboratories, 2 prep rooms and 2 corridors.

The Brief

Headington School founded in 1915, is an all-girls school offering education from 3 years old through to Sixth Form. The school is divided over 2 sites in the prestigious area of Oxford; Headington Preparatory School and the nursery are at one site, with Headington School and Sixth Form only a stone’s throw away.

The client needed to refresh some areas of the Sixth Form building and they approached Pinnacle Furniture to undertake the project. The areas we were required to refurbish were 7 laboratories, 2 prep rooms and 2 corridors. We were given a fairly tight deadline to complete this project which our Project Team had to be mindful of when scheduling deliveries and arranging contractors.

What We Did

In 4 of the science laboratories, we stripped out all the interior completely and installed white and grey Capacity Storage with Velstone worktops, as well as sinks, taps, gas taps and power sockets. Each room features a splash of colour to brighten up the stereotypical ‘clinical’ look of a laboratory and to enthuse the students. In 2 science laboratories, we were only required to replace the worktops which we did by using Velstone to match the rest of the laboratories.

We supplied TeacherWalls which provide the rooms with an element of functionality with the combination of storage and learning aids. TeacherWalls can be fully customised depending on the requirements and size of the room, with a wide range of different finishes available.
