Pinnacle were delighted to be appointed to work on Haberdashers’ Boys’ brand-new academic hub. We provided our signature TeacherWall and LockerWall systems. Our inhouse team also surveyed and decanted the legacy loose furniture, and provided the classrooms, offices, lobby, and breakout areas with brand new equipment to complete the new building population.
The Brief
Haberdashers’ Boys’ School is an independent day school in Elstree, Hertfordshire, for pupils aged 4 to 18.
This summer, the school opened two brand-new buildings, Taylor and Hinton, which were named after former headmasters. It was designed to teach core subjects, English, Theology and Philosophy, Modern Foreign Languages, Maths, and Economics.
There were three parts to the project:
– To provide the Teacher and LockerWall fitted furniture. These were specified by architects, NVB and procured by Volker Fitzpatrick.
– Populate with new loose furniture, which was tendered by NVB and procured through the school.
– In the third part of the project we surveyed and decanted the legacy loose furniture. This was undertaken by the school and procured by the school
What We Did
Pinnacle provided TeacherWall and LockerWall systems in 46 classrooms. Our TeacherWall range were bespoke to fit the differently sized classrooms. We installed 4, 6, and 7 metre systems, combining technology (smartboard and sound bar) and storage in a single location.
Our LockerWall systems were also tailored to fit the size of the teaching space. These were fitted across existing walls, providing each student a place to store personal belongings and free up space in the classroom. We opted for an oak-coloured scheme that blended well with the overall décor of the building.
As part of the loose furniture brief, we installed Power over Ethernet (PoE) clocks to deliver accurate timing for classes and meetings in each room. The breakout areas were designed to provide a flexible collaborative space for group discussions, independent study, and relaxation in between lessons. We supplied soft modular blue seating for students to suit different workstyles and postures. In addition, we provided chairs for other workstations in both classrooms and offices, as well as surveying and decanting the legacy loose furniture.
It was an incredibly rewarding project for the Pinnacle team to be involved in delivering a stimulating and flexible learning space for the students and teachers to enjoy.
