Project Overview

East Calder Primary School underwent a major transformation with a new state-of-the-art building designed to support modern primary education needs. This new environment prioritises flexible, supportive spaces that enhance both learning and community engagement.

In collaboration with Morrison Construction, Pinnacle provided and installed a diverse range of loose and fitted furniture for educational and administrative spaces, ensuring that each area met its specific functional and design requirements.

What We Did

Pinnacle played a key role in both designing and furnishing multiple areas of the new East Calder Primary School, ensuring functionality, comfort, and adaptability in every space.

Breakout Areas:Themed breakout areas were furnished with a variety of seating options to provide additional teaching and activity spaces. Reading nooks and booth seating created semi-enclosed areas to help with concentration and self-regulation. An active space outside the gym hall, with floor markings, was placed to encourage activity and learning, while a sand and water station added an element of play.

Changing Rooms:Bespoke furniture solutions were installed to create well-organised and functional changing areas for students.

Classrooms: These rooms were furnished with diverse seating options to establish distinct learning zones that encouraged both collaboration and individual focus. Each classroom featured a Peg Board display, allowing for dynamic, interactive displays that can be modified throughout the term.

STEM Room and Nurture Rooms:Designed with flexibility in mind, these rooms incorporated adaptable seating options, including beanbags, stools, and adjustable tables, to support interactive, collaborative, and individual activities with whiteboards strategically placed to encourage engagement.

Dining Hall: Vinyl seat pads on the Hellerup facilitated its use for packed lunch dining, while foldable tables at the bottom of the Hellerup allowed the space to easily transition between dining and presentation setups.

Sports Hall:Furnished with an array of sports equipment, including basketball goals, netball, volleyball and tennis posts along with a range of loose sports equipment, to promote physical education and activities. A modular stage and seating was also provided to support assemblies and school performances.
