Brighton College Lab, Prep Room & Storage Fit-Out

In the science laboratories, we installed bespoke black 20mm SGL worktops, black fume cupboards, ceramic sinks and student and teacher islands. All furniture was FSC® certified to meet the project’s sustainability criteria. Each laboratory was fitted with the appropriate safety equipment like the WaterSaver taps, gas taps and eyewash hoses.  The overall design has a contemporary feel with views to the historic buildings surrounding the College. To compliment the natural light, inside each laboratory we installed LED lighting in the StorageWall niches and artificial lighting in all ceilings to create a modern and university style aesthetic to the building.

In relation to the sports facilities, we installed semi-transparent illuminated swimming pool lockers to brighten darker areas of the building. We also integrated appliances in the prep rooms and kitchenette for staff use. Overall, we worked towards achieving the best possible balance of the architect’s vision and practicality of the School.
